There is the sense here of more than meets the eye with this work. The title "sunshine" serves almost as a clue to the meaning of the photo. While the light glistens upon mostly the unseen area of the subject, her face and other features are shrouded in the dark. We often equate light with beauty, it seems that the message here is perhaps that light doesn't fall upon the vain or those who take confidence in their looks. That she looks away from the light may be an indication of hubris, that her looks are brighter and more radiant than the light is - in her mind.
Kudos on picking a picture perfect model. Taylor Morgan if I read correctly. the position of her hands add to the work in that they subtract what would've been negative space. The models looks are a mix of All American cuteness, and fashionable youth. She's got big soft cheeks, a small jawline and a near flawless Sarah Michelle Gellar esque nose. Her beauty is more than just for spectacle here, it serves the purpose of the photo, and its message.
